Every post in the 90s Kid series is one gadget, one habit, or one sound from the decade. This one is all of them on a single rented tape: 3 minutes 29 seconds, pixel art, with original music and sound effects.

• A four-player N64 sleepover where someone is definitely looking at your screen
• A Tamagotchi that needed you during math class
• Saturday-morning cartoons, home-improvement TV, and the Weather Channel at 3:47 AM

• The sound of dial-up, and a website that was forever under construction

• Payphones, a hacker magazine, and a bumper sticker that said FREE KEVIN
• A lightning round of floppies, pagers, and other things that fit in a pocket or a backpack
• The night Y2K was supposed to eat the world
